ABOUT THE ASSOCIATION

Who We Are

QANM is Quebec’s provincial association of naturopathic doctors — rigorously trained, board-examined, and united in advancing the recognition of naturopathic medicine in Quebec. QANM is the Quebec provincial chapter of the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND) and an affiliate of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (AANP).

A Quebec where regulated naturopathic medicine is trusted, accessible, and integrated into patient-centred healthcare.

Mission

QANM advances naturopathic medicine in Quebec by representing and supporting qualified naturopathic doctors, promoting high standards of evidence-informed and patient-centred care, and advocating for regulation that protects the public and expands access to trusted professionals. We lead with integrity and collaboration, responding to the growing interest in naturopathic medicine and the evolving healthcare needs of Quebecers.

Our Story

QANM: Leaders in advancing access to naturopathic care

Founded in 1994, the Quebec Association of Naturopathic Medicine, brings together naturopathic doctors, trained and examined as primary care doctors when graduating from their respective schools, into Quebec to provide complimentary health services in a not-yet regulated province. The QANM exclusively represents naturopathic doctors, who have graduated from CNME accredited naturopathic medical schools and passed the NPLEX or CONO licensing exams.
For the general public, this provides assurance when choosing to work with a QANM member, of their competence and professionalism.
The QANM currently operates as a pseudo-regulatory board until the Quebec Government chooses to approve our file. We are currently working with the Office des professions du Quebec (OPQ) to create formal policy and regulation for naturopathic medicine and naturopathic doctors, in Quebec, who deliver safe, effective and personalised care, for the lasting benefit of the public.
